Earlier today Sega released details on its new first person shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines. Sega have not yet set an official release date but it is expected to appear later this year and will be released on Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3. The multiple format games approach seems to be the latest trend as developers are looking to maximise profits. This approach does have shortfalls as compatibility issues arise and release dates are often set back. We hope this is not the case with Aliens: Colonial Marines.
In classic aliens style you take on the role of a United States Colonial marine and are tasked with the job of destroying a terrifying alien horde. The game is expected to deliver the same dark and intense atmosphere of the films but deliver a new interactive gaming experience.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will feature weapons such as pulse rifles and flamethrowers which will all be neatly compacted into a squad based system. We look forward to seeing aliens run around on fire. Sega also stated that the game will use an immersive sound track and detailed level designs which are aimed to keep gamers on the edge of their seats. They also let slip that Aliens: Colonial Marines will feature a multiplayer mode. No details have been confirmed but we will keep you updated.
