We have finally got round to checking out the latest version of FIFA Manager 08 and again EA Sports have provided us with a lacklustre football management sim. We were hoping that EA would have ironed out the kinks from the last version and give us a game that has the sort of addictiveness levels as Facebook and Championship Manager. Sadly EA failed to get even the core concept right.
EA have tried to be quirky by adding a new twist to the footie management sim. The game makes you chose a sexual partner and also build personal relationships with your chairman. Unfortunately this distracts from the key element of the game, which is to build up a successful football team. It appears that the developers have spent too much time adding silly new features which are pleasing on the eye but add little to the game. The game just doesn’t excite us and the interface is at times awkward.
It comes as little surprise that EA almost snuck this title to the shelves. This game could certainly be an early contender for worst game of the year. Our version of the game will go in the basket of shame.
