Battlefield 1943 Coral Sea Unlocked – EA resets demo limits

Battlefield 1943A double whack of a Battlefield 1943 news story today. First of all, the Coral Sea map has been unlocked for both consoles (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3). The map was set on a community challenge, the task of which was to reach 43 million cumulative kills from all players on each system.

Unsurprisingly, the Xbox 360 won the race, reaching the target kills in only 4 days from the challenge start date. Sony’s black box then followed suit 5 days later, with 43 million players managing to die.

Coral Sea is a dogfight map, where players are spawned on to aircraft carriers, which have planes spawning at faster-than-normal rates. To play the Coral Sea map you need to select the “Play Air Superiority” item on the games main menu screen.

If you haven’t bought the game yet and you’ve already tried the demo, then don’t worry. EA have graciously extended demo play time by resetting all demo counters back to zero. This means you can have another 30 minutes of trying out Battlefield 1943 before getting heavily addicted. Dandy.
