The patch announced back at E3 2008 that would add Trophy support to Burnout Paradise has been officially released. The Trophy patch was made live a couple of hours ago, with the usual update routine in place:
- Turn on PS3
- Insert Burnout Paradise Blu-Ray and click X on it in the XMB (Cross Media Bar)
- Click X at the patch notification prompt
- Wait…
- …Enjoy
Opon a successful install, you should be able to see the Trophies for Burnout Paradise in the Trophy section of the XMB. You can view the full Trophy list here. There are 64 Trophies in total, so you should be kept busy.
Unfortunately, it has been confirmed on the official Criterion blog that Trophies will not be retroactive. This means any Trophy parameters you may have already met will not count and you must create a new save and start all over again. This is disappointing new for everyone who has spent a long time striving for the Trophies, especially in anticipation of the fact they were originally confirmed as being retroactive. The post from the blog above simply says:
“Burnout Paradise saves are locked to your profile. We had hoped to use this to retroactively award trophies, but we discovered during testing that this is not possible.”
