It’s a great game, no-one can deny it. The Call of Duty 4 buzz just will not die down. Even though the game has been with us since late 2007, it has managed to pick up three BAFTA 2009 awards.
Whilst accepting the these awards, Robert Bowling from Infinity Ward let out the fact that the online mode of CoD4 has attracted 15 million gamers. This is a huge number and is sure to be a great set of figures for Infinity Ward, who are currently working on Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2 (imaginative).
Bowling went on to split the numbers into their respective console networks, stating that 11 million were Xbox LIVE users and 4 million were from PlayStation Network. This is an astounding statistic, especially as the Xbox LIVE numbers previously released stated there were 19 million Xbox Live accounts. These numbers don’t even include the PC users.
Modern Warfare 2 is due for release towards the end of the current year.
