Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer Tips & Tricks

We have been playing Call of Duty 4 for some time now and we have been able to pick up some neat tips and tricks which we want to share with you. Our obsession with the game does not look like slowing any time soon and it seems that we are not the only ones. It was recently reported that COD4 is out performing Halo 3 on the xbox 360. We want to share our discoveries with you and help you become a master with a rifle or indeed a knife or a pistol.

The list of Call of Duty 4 tips and tricks is listed below and is aimed at novice and intermediate gamers.

Use silenced weapons to ensure that your weaponary fire does not show up on the map. This makes it more difficult for enemies to find your position.

Use the map to locate your enemies. The map shows the layout of the area and when enemies fire their weapons you can see where they are situated.

Often players frequent the same spot so visit there spots frequently. This is especially true with snipers.

Use the martodom perk where possible. This drops a grenade by yourside when you are killed. You will be suprised by how many people get caught out by this, even the pros.

Plant claymores around doors and place one a small distance behind the other, let your opponent see the first one as they will be caught out by the second one.

Dont wait in same spot, get out there and pick off them bad boys. You will kill more if you are constantly on the move.

If you run out of bullets, don’t waste time reloading in the face of your enemy, just swap to your secondary weapon.

When moving between objects sprint and when not moving around use the crouch position to make it more difficult for an enemy to strike you.

Be aware of your surroundings at every moment – the amount of knife slashing in COD 4 is unbelievable, though it is very satisfying.

If you are having little luck with your current weapon why not pick one up off the floor and use that.

Use your environment, blend in where possible. Remember that opponents will easily pick up on fast movements in the open.

We also found this video on youtube and thought it highlighted some pretty good points about one of the maps in the game.

  1. Good tips, bro!

  2. […] has finally made the announcement we have all been waiting for, new downloadable maps for Call of Duty 4. Gamers will be able to purchase map packs from either the Xbox Live Market Place or the […]

  3. i got another tip fire your gun so you show up on the enemy radar then plant C4 were you were just shooting the wait for somebody to come by and blow the heck out of them. this also works with claymores but it doesn’t work as well.

  4. thanks for the comment Matty and great tip by the way. We will be trying that one tonight.

  5. another tip on domination, capture your flag the hide the c4 around it , then be off..wait till you hear your flag being captored then BOOM … ya might get three kills :@@) excellants tips :)

  6. cheers Vilai, i will have to check that out. I must admit i have not played domination mode much but sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the comment.

  7. Good stuff but there are many unmeantioned bits like when cough out in the open and are under fire drop down! ya nugget and there are others, but i cant be botherd to ay them all. But nobodys perfect.

  8. thanks for the comment john. The list is mainly for beginner and intermediate players so we have not included everything but we liked your tip. It is one we use quite a lot ourselves. There are lots of hidden gems in this game, that is probably why we all love it.

  9. Mark, thanks for the tips but if they are for novice/intermediate players then they need to know what some of these mean.
Example: you state Martodom perk, but you dont mention how to get a perk or how to activate it.
Yes I am a Novice, so thats the issue I have is trying to find out how not only to get the perks but how to activate them.

  10. Hi Troy, welcome to the site. Thanks for the comment and i can fully understand what you are saying. You make a great point. Unlocking perks can only be done by playing plenty of online games and building up your points levels. I personally gained most of my perks by becoming completely comfortable with one weapon and gaining points for high kill counts. I like the rifle so i used that weapon for all my matches and was slowly given the opportunity to upgrade the weapon. This led to me gaining higher scores and unlocking new perks. Activating a perk is relavtively simple. In the games menu - in a games lobby - you have an option to create a class. Within the create a class menu you got options to assign three perks. At the start you only have the basic ones but after playing the game for a while you are able to unlock all of them. Hope this helps and please feel free to drop us a line if you want me to go into more detail.

  11. Great tips, but I’m curious what the best configuration is, ie AK47 w/silencer / juggernaut / martodom. I’m a novice and am trying to figure out the “best” combo of perks- any advice would be great!! Thanks

  12. JOn when i first started the game i found that the best combination came at around level 10 which was great (shouldnt take more than a couple of days to reach this level) at this point you can use the m4a1carbine which is a great gun, i used this with, 2rpgs, stopping power youll see why from the damage rating, and deep impact, i completed all challenges with this gun fairly quickly and i am now building up all other gun perks(mp5 great all round wish i realised that before level 40ish). i also find the laser scope better in ‘open warfare’ the ag03 restricts close range views but is great for picking people off, when you unlock better guns move up but i feel its best to specialise with one until you are good enough to chop and change, by the time you reach level 30 youll realise different guns benifit different environments, e.g p90- vacant g36c- overgrown there are more but discover your own tips best way to get better…

  13. Barcliz is spot on, to start with just become comfortable with one weapon and spend time playing the game. Then after a while you will be able to open up some basic perks. Martodom, i find, is one perk that should always be used. You would not believe how many kills you will get with that. The laser site is also brilliant and works well with the assault rifle. Makes aiming much easier. As a novice you just need to take your time and get used to the levels. There are always spots that people frequent regularly so check them out and keep on the move. The wait for the new perks and weapons are very much worth it.

  14. Thanks for the tips! Can’t wait to try them.

  15. It all depends on your playing style IMO. I prefer SMG’s with silencers and Stopping Power and either Steady hand or Martyr. At about level 37 you get Overkill which lets you pick two main weapons to start with which could change the way you play the game totally.

  16. The most effective create a class combination in my eyes, for a free roaming, always on the go cod4 player is definitely this.
Primary Weapon: Mp5 w/ Red Dot Sight
    Secondary Weapon: M9
    Special Grenade: Stun Grenade
    Perk 1: Bandolier
    Perk 2: Stopping Power

  17. For close/mid-range cod4 players i’d say this is by far one of the best Create A Class combinations.
Primary Weapon: Mp5 w/ Red Dot Sight
    Secondary Weapon: M9
    Special Grenade: Stun Grenade
    Perk 1: Bandolier
    Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Martyrdom or Extreme Conditioning

I’ve had plenty of 20-30 kill games with this combo including a couple 40 kill games and it never gets old. it’s also good when first starting the game or entering another prestige because you already have the Mp5 and Stopping Power.

  18. Im rank 44 currently but wen im 55 this is gonna be my best combo well it looks balanced to me ahah
Primary weapon: Barret 50.cal sniper rifle (How can you refuse this beauty?)
    Secondary weapon: P90 SMG
    Special grenade: Flashbang
    Perk 1: Bandolier
    Perk 2: Overkill
    Perk 3: Dead Silence
I play Cage all the time so a balanced class works wonders, i currently have this all but my sniper is a Dragunov (i play on xbox 360 for the record ) I always have a flashbang i dunno why actually ahaha. Anyone have any better balanced classes (i’ve tried most assault rifles with the dragunov…..doesn’t work i dunno why) cheers

  19. Here is what works best for me.

    G36C with the silencer
    .45 with the silencer
    Claymore or C4
    UAV Jammer
    Dead Silence

It works well in any kind of match. You can out flank your opponents while they are concentrating on someone else. i usually go around the gun fight and try to take people from behind. Always succesful in killing at least 3 in a row. If you don’t have the G36C then you can use any one just get the silencer.

I like to use the P90 for “spray and pray” in close quarters and the M14 for 1 (with stopping power perk) shot 1 kill. The M14 is good for increasing your accuracy.

  20. you guys know almost everything i know in this game hahaha!!

and something is missing here,,, the guns at single player are very well costumizze you get what i mean?!
in multiplayer you can only chose few attachments like the silencer and the red dot sight thing hehe..
but in single player you can see that all in one weapon! right thatss what im trying to say even at the officials..
why not make a mod like that? more attachments..

oh and this would be my set for the sniper hehe!
Primary:dah Barret 50calibur sniper Rifle( man easy kill haha)
    secondary :.45 (silencer)
    Perk1: claymore
    Perk2: Stopping Power
Perk3: stedy aim or Iron lunge^_^
well thats my style at sniper i change spot almost everytime i Shoot

oh ya and for the tips haha sorry but im doing that all the time before i gone off to this site haha lmao..

  21. Mark, some great tips thanks. Still fairly new to the game (just over a week), struggling with coming up to the fire quick enough. many times I have caught someone unawares and fired into them only to find they kill me. Not so good shooting from the hip! and getting up to the sight is usually too slow. Any tips for sighting or carrying the weopon as you move around to get me somewhere close to the right firing position quicker?

    Cheers

  22. hey guys, sorry its been a while since i have responded to your posts.

Hi Bazza - if you catch someone unaware a great way to kill them is with a knife. One strike of the knife will kill them and this gives them no chance to retaliate. To knife someone press the R3 button. As for weapons it depends what type of player you want to be. If you want to run around lots i would advise a light sub machine gun cause it is quick and will kill people easily at close range. If you want to shoot people at long range then the standard rifle or sniper will do. The best thing you can do is become comfortable with one weapon.

  23. m4a1 red dot
    .45
    frag 3
    stoppping power
    matrydom

just got me 47 kills and 9 deaths on tdm

  24. PerKs with P90 1. 3 grenades 2. juggernaut 3. last stand

  25. I see, its quite useful.

  26. 47 Kills in one match is really impressive. Sounds like you are in the pro ranks

  27. I just got prestige yesterday. Is there anything special in Prestige mode other that getting a different insignia? For the newbies I recomend stopping power with any rifle. Once you get some experience you will find it your self which weapons are good for which maps. Don’t forget that you have about 40 seconds of intermission between maps where you can customize your class for the next match.

  28. One thing i think should be mentioned is ” DO NOT USE THE MATRYDOM PERK IN HARDCORE GAMES” your team can pay a huge price for your death. Great tips by the way.

  29. on hardcore which i always play on is

    m16a4 .45 with silencer 3 frags/bandolier double tap deep imapct/steady aim

works amazing on hardcore.got me 22 kills, 1 death and a bomb planted in one search and destroy game

  30. you guys want to know the best combination? I have.
    P90 w/ Silencer
    Claymore
    Stopping Power
    Dead Silence
Most important use Stereo Headphone. Why? Cause you will hear any step they make even if they are moving slow, reloading guns, plating claymore or C4, even if they are using Dead Silence. With the headphone you will hear them coming from left or right, far or near so you know where to find them. Unless of course they were just hiding through the game and waiting for you to pop out. Anyway as soon as you kill them they will be respawn somewhere near you sometimes in the open so if they move they’re dead! Unless of course your too clumsy to get a kill! Lots of them will think your cheating cause you know exactly where to find them. I Dont blame them but too bad for them!!! Ha!!!

  31. I have more tricks if you guys want to know but i’m sure some players know it they just dont know how to use it!
By the way the first combination mostly works for Cage Match, if you use it for team Death Match or any team games cause theres a lot of movement including your team mates but still works for me you just have to know how to use it. Besides with the team games you need to move a lot more to get a lot of kills.

  32. im not half bad at this game myself im a pretty awsome class builder but the best class u can use for the entire online experience if u really want to is this class:

    prim: m16 (with red dot)
    second: doesnt matter
    spec grenade: stun
    perk 1: bandolier
    perk 2: stopping power
    perk 3: deep impact

another class i call the ninja class would be

    prim: P90 with silencer
    second: m19 silenced
    spec grenade: smoke
perk 1: claymore - reason being is becuz if u have good survival ability setting up random claymores is a major pain trust me i know :]
perk 2: uav jammer of course
    perk 3: extreme conditioning

with this class you are very agile in movement and if you know how to sneak up on unsuspecting noobs well then ha youre set!

  33. o and if u want anymore class info u can ask me my name is the gamertag i use on 360

  34. o and flip guy the only advantage is just the insignia it really doesnt do anything else

  35. also one more thing make sure you choose a wepon and class based off personality u want to have all advantages and if you can relate a gun to personality ull be set like i love rifles and subs i like to be up closs in the fray best way to get kills.

  36. hey wots ‘dead silence’ do??

  37. Dead Silence means that you make little noise when running/walking/reloading etc. Very good for flanking snipers.

Personally I’ve always used UAV Jammer since unlocking it and I don’t think I could ever stop using it - it feels nice to know that you’re not on radar after respawning etc and I seem to get a lot of sneak up behind kills.

    Nice tips btw Mark :)

  38. ya dead silence is a great thing to have especially with uav jammer. its a deadly combo and bomb squad youll be a flanking freak and be able to get those pesky snipers

  39. Call of duty is by far one of the best online shooters out there, and i’m pretty adept at claiming a head or 20 in a match. Here are some of the things I have done and had done to me with suprising effectiveness.

People crawl through the holes in walls dotted around on some maps, which is stupid. There is nothing more fun than pointing your boomstick at the head wiggling through. Take my advice. Dont do it.

The shotgun/stopping power/steady-aim combo is devastating and has more range than you might think. The only map I wouldn’t recommend it on is showdown. The corridoors are just too long. The M1014 is my preference, with the grip. reloading is quick because the damn thing only holds four shots, by my god does it bark.

Stopping power is good but don’t rely on it too much. juggernaut is sweet because it keeps you alive longer and effectively gives you 135 health instead of the normal 100. It cancels out the effect of stopping power just as the stopping power cancels your juggernaut.

sonic boom is good, but I feel like more of my time is spent shooting, so bullet damage or health seem like a better choice.

Silenced weapons are king, but their kingdom is weak. Don’t silence your AK. Not only does it look rubbish but it seems to be weaker than all the rest. In general try to stick to silencing the smg’s. Silenced Mp5’s are nice. The iron sight is friendly and with claymores, a jammer and martydom you can be a real pain.

Ignore the weapon stats. They are stupid and rubbish and pretty much just there for show. Use a weapon you find comfortable and easy to use. Assualt rifles are best with a red dot sight in my opinion, as the bigger scope is harder to use in closer situations. There is absolutley no point putting that big-ass scope onto your skorpion or uzi.

LMG/Bandolier/Double tap/Deep impact is great for assaulting houses or other areas you know they’re holed up in.

get into the habit of swapping your pistol for ANYTHING ELSE.

ok theres a ton more but skins has started and i want to watch.

  40. r700
    m9 silenced
    claymore
    stopping power
    iorn lungs

    Or for close to medium

    Ak47 with red dot sight
    m9 1:smokex3. 2:stopping power. 3:steady aim hope this helps

  41. I personally have never been a big first person shooter type. I have always played online RPGs and just recently quit WOW, bought myself a 32 inch hi def, a 360 and COD4 to play with my buddy who constantly ridicules me for playing wow.

Anyways, after a week, I am level 40 something first prestige. I first played the game on multiplayer, so I didnt do to well at first; however, I now consider myself to be somewhat decent/ Last night I got 34 kills, 6 deaths on Bog with a 17 kill streak. I was using an RPD with grip attachment, martyrdom and like stopping power. I dont use juggernaut personally because I consider it lame and somewhat “No honor” although I don’t really mind when people use it because I kill them anyways.

One thing that wow/runescape-staking have in common with COD4 is first hit matters alot, meaning hitting your opponent before he hits you almost always guarantees a kill. Also, that map with the tanks in the middle is excellent for flanking people. I get a lot of kills form people trying to snipe. They are always in those buildings in the middle, or on the sides kind of half way back. On that level if the middle is highly packed with people, use the sewer and get them from the side or back. And again, flanking is key in that level as well as any other, watch out for people camping in corners though.

The level with the ship, one of my favorites, 3 frags is clutch. Starting out the level I run about a third of the way and them launch 1 to the left 1 to the middle and one to the right. I have sometimes started off that map with 4 kills that ways. Flashbang around corners, or stuns are good too. I think sniping in general is dumb personally, just my opinion. I rarely die to snipers on that level. Also, I do best on that map when I keep moving. Take out one side and flank them, or get them from the side. I use an MP5, silenced with stopping power, martyrdom.

Crash is a fun map too. I like the m16 red dot, again stopping power, martyrdom. Always stay on the move. I usually stay along the outskirts of the map and knife about 4 people in that one room that you crawl up the ladder to, with an outisde top floor and inside. Watch out for snipers on that 3 story bulding. m16 silenced isnt bad either on this one. Remember where there is one, there is usually another..

Bog, alot of people snipe, they are usually to concentrated staring str8 with their scopes so are easy targets from the side. Look out for people in the bus, the building, the dirt mound and snipers behind the walls.

Im not an expert and am still figuring alot of stuff out..im a noob ok lol but yeh if you want to play with me sometime just hit me up in game, drop a FR

  42. sup guys i just found out something crazy! i went 40 and 6 sadly i didnt beat my killstreak but i learned something. that having a rifle is just unfair. everyone that match was using a rifle and sniper rifle. it was ridiculous. everyone was using the stopping power red dot sight combo on the m4 ak and m16. it was really repetative. my clan still won tho. but it seems that everyone just uses the rifles now. i know there standard wepons but they should make them a little less effective.

a tip i guess would be to check all corners, nooks, and craneys. as a sniper going back and forth periodically helps make sure that ur safe. people can run and shoot claymores so youre not always safe. another thing is wen going up ladders cook a grenade and then smoke or stun or even flash them while still on the ladder and then storm them but watch that blindfire stuff.

well my gamertag is Zudamour and im the leader of the KIA clan and were recruiting just cool members. we are just a couple of guys having fun cracking jokes and willing to risk it all to win or to make the clan look good. if you got a game battles thats even better. so send me a message and ill hook u up.

  43. the pistol in this game is key

i dont care what others say but if u got a pistol ur set.

the reason for the pistol is for the fast swap not to switch although its nice to have a m16 and a sniper but having a pistol is better how fast can u switch between sniper and assault rifle?

not fast at all. if your an experienced player or wanna become one try using that pistol wen ur out and not just pick up the next best gun on the ground.

also if ur using over kill make sure in the beggining u switch youre wepons once or twice. becuz certain guns need to be cocked in order to shoot ( example: p90 ) so just watch how much more effective you play now.

also still recruiting KIA clan drop a message and ask me about the clan and heel even if its just to play a match or 2. im always willing to shoot some guys on xbox live :]

  44. why i dont see any enemies when playing on multiplayer?
is it because i need more than two people on mutliplayer? because i just use two controllers instead of for or are the like default enemies that will attack you? because i see none at all , i just run around the area n eventually run out of time.

    SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME

  45. Hey Jaiven,

Is your network connection working? You first have to make sure that you are signed on to the network.

  46. Alrigth I play on th ps3 and it seems a majority of you posting are on the 360, but same stuff applies. Most basic tip ever, used by all pros in any game…watch your teammates. There are roughly 2 or 3 areas in each map that a lot of people wouldn’t know about had they not seen someone else do it. For example the window in the back of the flower shop on strike can be climbed into by running, jumping, climbing the edge and then climbing the window. How many snipers place claymores at the window instead of both stair cases.

As far as everyone voting matyrdom as a favorite 3rd perk. Take Last Stand and learn to use your pistol. Matyrdom is easy kills, but also leads to your reputation being soiled. Last stand is equally as frustrating in the right hands, but has the added bonus of addng to your kill streak so you can get that one more kill for a heli or airstrike.

Lastly … rifles are not unfair. Everything depends on the player. All you brag about 40+ kills a game with a combo, but thats your skill with that combo not the combo doing the work for you. Everyone needs to experiment for themselves. I personally run circles around people with the default mp5 class up until level 40 when I get the p90. Just for kicks learn to use a default class extemely well. Nothing is more fun than going 57 and 3 at level 1

  47. Well I’ve just started the game and I’m at level 5 so it’s great to read all the tips here, but I think it’s unfortunate I can’t pick a room where the level is from 5-20, 20-40 etc .I’ve gotten 2 kills in that entire time. I’ll be standing in front of the guy shooting (…not 4 long) and with two shots from the enemy I’m down. The whole red-dot-doesn’t- come-up-for-some thing is a killer and frustrating. Granted I realise this is a minority opinion and friends of mine haven’t even played the game, it’s all been on-line for them, but the online allure has escaped me even though COD4 is one of the best games I’ve ever palyed.

  48. *played*……………………………..palyed is good too.

  49. if any of u play searth and destroy i would use 3 flag granades and thew then straight over buildings it picks off loads and they carnt come back and get u :D

  50. ya for the best combp for me i say is dranzov as primary and m16 with red dot as secondary, and i have the c4, stopping power and iron lung of course for better sniping accuray. what do u guys think the best combo is?

  51. oh and by the way i think the juggeraut is the cheapest perk on COD4. like i used it once, and thought it was pretty cheap. i dont know what u guys think about it, what do u guys think?

  52. i love cod4 and am lvl 48 on my 3rd prestige mode. my advice is find the good hiding places, watch your teammates and find the secret to get to places and use them, or alternatively just keep on the move and don’t stop, keep trying to flank your opposing team but when doing that remember to use a silencer. i may come back on here later and talk properly, with proper spelling and grammar, except i’m in school right now in my ICT lesson and i HATE apple computers and there keyboards.

    bye for now.

  53. I play COD4 on the 360. One of the things I would suggest is that in the options menu, slightly increase the controller sensitivity, as it is quite low as a default, this will allow u to turn a little fast which is useful in tight situations. The combination i use for the majority of game types is:

    M16 Red dot
    Claymores
    Stopping Power
    Deep Impact

I switch between claymores and bandolier for the Vacant Map, and then on Hardcore Search and Destroy I use:

    Ak47 Grenade Launcher
    M16 Grenade Launcher
    (No Perk 1)
    Overkill
    Martydom

This is purely because of the extra damage done on Hardcore, and I would strongly suggest you and a friend practice shooting each other from the spawn points in a private match on Hardcore Search and Destroy with the grenade launcher. If done correct you can really rack up the XP. (although you will be branded a complete noob.)

  54. I think the best perk is U.A.V JAMMER, and if your new to the game get it when you are a high enough level (i think it is 13 i am not sure). Found your fav gun, mine was the m4 and i unlocked everything for it and you get loads of free xp for using your fav gum all the time. Serch and destroy is a map to get xp on if you are good at killing, also headquaters evan if you dont kill anyone you can get xp off people of your team capturing it for you. If any on plays on it with the ps3 feel free to add me HARL3Y_23 and be prepared to get your arse kicked (just kidding).

  55. One of my favorite weapons for close quaters would have to be
p90 double tap, with 3x stun grenades and martyrdom.
I’ve also been told that using the perk Sonic Boom and Martyrdom increases your droped grenades range and is deadly. One of my favorite guns has to be the
m60 with scope, deap impact, 3x frags and stopping power is brutal.
Also for snipers I love using
M21 with double tap, usualy I use 3x stun but Claymores are good also, and deap impact, it’s awesome for quick shooting, and it’s still a sniper but you can use it as a medium ranged weapon too.

  56. Hi, great tips from all. A 41yr old here very new to xbox. i left it late, but after watching my 5yr old play his brothers CoD4 and master it in a day i went and got myself one, solely to play CoD4. I use the p90 playing head to head with him and do fairly well. Not so good with it on xbox live tho. I end up shooting clouds when someone starts firing at me. So “Dad’s Gun” is now the M4 Carbine with bandolier (i need them extra bullets, i tend to use a lot of them), Stopping power (because the first couple of bullets might just hit the target) and Steady Aim (I need all the help i can get when aiming). From an “old noob”!

  57. another one is when sniping(this always works for me) for a easy head shot when the enemy is running, aim a bit infront of them. Usually it works unless you have a red dot connection.

  58. Hi, I’m a level 55 tenth prestige and have been playin the game for about 15 days (actual gameplay). Here are some tips: either snipe or rush your opponent, dont get caught in between, change your approach each round to catch out your opponent, if you hear sniper shots flying past your head, duck and dive from side to side and know your maps! Class 1: g36c, red dot, claymores, uav jammer and dead silence or extrme conditioning. Class 2: M21, claymores, uav jammer, iron lungs. Hope this helps you!

  59. If you think about it using perks depends on what you are going to play.
For instance UAV jammer, Dead Silence, Claymore would be good for search and destroy,
Stopping power-Deaper penatration, 3 frags are good for Headqaurters and Domination,
Stopping power, Dead Silence, Claymore for Cage Match
If your sniping its best to use (Stopping power), Deep penatration, Claymore this will give one shot kill unless your always get a headshot.

My favorite is using Dead Silence (works best with smaller team or cage match) like i said in my previous message i use HEADPHONES (not the headset) this will inhance your hearing by 90% (means you can hear your enemy’s footsteps from left to right, front or back) you can also tell if your enemy is far or near. With the dead silence even if you run its almost no sound, but if you dont use Deadsilence you will hear your footsteps as well so you will have hard time hearing your enemy. Unless of course if your enemy will just hide and keep still the whole game. My gamer tag is ManHeaven8 if you want to try and i’ll prove it.

One thing i notice if you reach Level 55 and stayed for a long time it seems that you cant kill efectively anymore. So even if i hate to go prestige and unlock them again.

  60. i think the best class for s and d on maps like backlot ect is p90 red dot site juggernaut deep impact frag 3

  61. my favourite class is 1 ive made while playing search and destroy for ages.

    so here goes:
MP5 silenced with red tiger (so enemys cant see you on the map)
desert eagle (back up from MP5)
C4’s (useful when defending a planted bomb)
UAV jammer (great when last player on team)
dead silence (just incase a enemys near you)

    thats about it really

  62. Hi!!!
    my best class is:
    Barrett .50 Calibre
    Desert Eagle
    Bandolier
    stopping Power or double tap
    martrydom
also when you have UAV jammer are you detectable on radar? or when you fire?
My gamertag is Call Sign Lion so please add me and ill kick ur ass!!! (Joking)
    Thanks

  63. No, you can’t see someone on your radar if they are using the UAV Jammer perk. Not even if they shoot, I believe, but could be wrong. Althought a lot of good tips here, it really does depend on what you are playing, and how you play personally to figure out what the best set-up is. I use to experiment with all the weapons, but I keep the M16 at all times now, unless I get a weapon off the ground and am forced to use it. For instance, if I am going on Wet Works (the ship), then I use the:
    M16 Red Dot
Claymores if Headquarters (I camp a spot and need them to cover when someone comes around the corner)
3 Frags if it’s anything else
    Stopping Power
Last Stand…Although this perk is a bit tougher, and less reliable than Martyrdom, it is a lot better. You may get that extra kill randomly from a grenade, but I like the chance of getting multiple kills from my pistol, and also continuing my kill streak for a any of the air supports. Nothing is better than falling at 6 kills, and then getting the 7th off of last stand and calling in a chopper before you die just so you can start your streak over once you respawn.

Now if I’m on a more open map that has a lot of longer ranged shots, such as Creek, I’ll use:
    M16 ACOG
    3 Frags
    Stopping Power
Deep Impact/Last Stand…It’s kind of a toss up here, cause the opportunities to use Last Stand on a big map are limited a lot more so that on a smaller, more close quarter map. And it’s always nice to be able to shoot someone that you’ve been following with your scope, but he just manages to duck behind a fence or something.

    Things to remember:

    1) If you are in Hardcore…don’t use stopping power…it’s useless. Use the UAV Jammer.

    2) Also for Hardcore…don’t use Martyrdom. You’ll be branded as a noob and shunned by all your team mates that you kill after you die and drop a grenade.

    3) As some have stated that the Pistol is a nice weapon, I personally don’t care for it, and I don’t pass up any chances to pick up a better weapon once I run across one.

    4) Claymores are KEY to many situations. Know the spawn points and high traffic areas. If you know there will be enemy’s coming out of a particular door, then put a claymore there and take cover somewhere else. It’s always great to be somewhere completely different on the map and see that you just killed someone without even doing anything at the time. Search and Destroy. Once you plant the bomb, plant Claymores around corners or where ever an enemy may come from trying to get to the bomb to defuse. Remember, the Claymore stays on the ground until you respawn, so as long as you are in spectator mode, you’re Claymore is still active.

    5) You don’t always have to use your scope. Practice and grow familiar with the hip firing range of your weapon. Some people don’t like the M16 in close quarter maps cause they don’t have time to scope and beat a person with and MP5 or something as fast, but if you don’t scope at all and just aim and fire, you’ll beat them to the punch. And scoping makes close quarters hard to aim down a scope as well, unless you use a higher sensitivity setting.

    6) Think of a spot that you like to go, but you aren’t there right now. Chances are, someones sitting there. There are many “common” spots on all maps. If you know of one and you don’t see a teammate there, then there’s probably and enemy. Just be on the look out.

    7) Know the map layout. If you are about to run out around a corner or out in the open…know not only where you are going, but what spots can see you. If you know what spots can see you, then you’ll have an advantage on them when you turn the corner and are already aimed that direction. Chances are, they are skimming over a portion of the map looking for movement. You on the other hand will be turning looking right at them. Never run into the open without first knowing what spots can see you and checking them first.

    8) If you are going to camp, always bring the Claymores along. They will be your eyes in the back and you can focus on the front. Even if the Claymore doesn’t kill the enemy, it still alerts you of their presence behind you.

    9) Know the spawn points for both teams and know where they are typically going to run first. Most always, the team will run in a very similar path as everyone else in the game, so if you know around abouts where they’ll be, then a well placed and cooked grenade will spoil their morale right off the beginning. I don’t know how many times I’ve started the first 15 seconds of a game and already had a UAV Recon available, just cause I launched a grenade where I thought some people were going to be running.

Just a general rule to remember at all times. When you turn a corner, don’t go “BLINDLY”. Know where you are going to visible from and protect yourself by looking in those directions.

  64. Lol, forgot that and 8 with a ) after it makes that smiley. Oh well. Anywho, I forgot to add that you can add me on Xbox Live with the exact name listed here. Have fun, and always be a good sport. No one likes a poor loser.

  65. hi all, im an level 55 and i have a few tips: when you r rushing someone, dont run straight for them hoping u well kill them, just keep ducking and moving left and right. and also, when you jump over a wall, and there is a enemy there, hit the dirt and shot as soon as you can. and for sniping, after u killed someone keep looking down the scope for at least 3 more seconds, thats because they will watch the killcam and find out where u r, but after u look down the scope for 3 seconds move right away. if anyone wants to play me or be on my team for xbox live, add backburner96

  66. Wow thanks a lot! there are so many builds here!

But i do have a question, on the cargo ship its hard to be a sniper but if you go assult your constantly ambushed! Do you guys know of a good place to kill with out being killed?

  67. close range:-

    mp5 silenced
    golden desert eagle
    stun grenade
    3 frags
    stopping power
    extreme conditioning

    or
one of the shotguns with grip
    3 frags
    stopping power
    steady aim

also the first sniper you get is the best. barret is too inncarute!
dont mess around with LMG’s and perks such as dead silence and 3* special grenades, unless you playing against me haha

also the old M16 with ACOG, desert eagle, 3 frags, stopping power and deep impact never goes un-used.

mental game i have to say
add me on 360 if u want to get owned - silent a55asin
    xx

  68. o and mystic suns.

if your looking to snipe on wetwork both ends of the ship offer fairly good sniper battles.
just make sure you claymore up the stairs behind you.

    x

  69. hey im a lvl 52 and if anyone wants to play me and my team, bring it on. im really good for just starting, so i want to test my skills.

BTW: watch out for my m40 with acog. ;)

  70. any sniper with an acog is useless. when has anyone ever used a sniper to run around with in a war haha.

my MVP clan will take you on. add me ’silent a55asin’

    get ready to be owned

  71. ive been playing COD4 since January and i am a level 52 on my first prestige. Some advice i can give is to always be moving. Never stay still too long especially if your a sniper b/c the “kill Cam” will get you in trouble (they know where you are). Another is if your play Team Deathmatch and you see the direction your teammates are shooting in, circle around and try to get them from the side or from behind. I use a Mp4 with a redot. flash grenade, stopping power, and deep impact…just depends on the map we are on. My name on here is my gamertag on XBOX Live so if you wanna roll, send me a request.

  72. Hi all, thanks for the tips, but i wanted to know if there is any other link or video showing Weapons Tips and How to aime, ive noticed that lots of good players aim at the feets , is that a tip or just random

  73. the best place to air is at the chest, unless going for head shots. it is simply the biggest area to hit

  74. the m40 with acod is only good on maps like backlot and other mediem size maps.

  75. Hi all!! you can add me on the ps3 COD4
my name is : toushiro-chan i’ll discuss some weapon category and what is the best gun in it(the best guns i think are)
Assault Rifle: For me i use the g36c or m4 carbine with a red dot site. In no circumstances should you use the ACOG scope or if your playing S and D you should be what I call a “ninja”. A silenced weapon and a deadly one. the weapon i consiider deadly would be the m16 because you will finish an enemy off in the 3 burst rounds, and with it silenced the enemy won’t know where you are. The mp44 is just useless because even the non-automatic gun m14 is better than it.
Sub-machine gun: As everyone was saying the mp5 silenced would be a really good weapon. It depends on how you combinate the gun with other perks. Since the mp5 is a sub machine gun they have only 60 bullets and Perk 1 Bandolier would be a good choice, because if you are good with the mp5 and want more bullets instead of finding other guns on the ground to get similiar bullets this would help you. Perk 2 depends on which case your in. If your 1on1 and takes ages to load and cock it up your dead! Sleight of Hand wold be good for you. If your the people who flank people, you should use UAV Jammer because in a normal team deathmatch there would basically be around 20 UAV’s called in by your enemies. In HeadQuarters its even worse. About 40 is called. Stopping Power would be suitable if your good at shooting and will hit the enemies easily. Perk 3, you shouldn’t be using Deeper Bullet Penetration for the mp5 because if your good at COD4, you will notice only assault rifles or LMGs will shoot through walls and have a good effect because they usually have more damage and SMG’s have less bullets. And if you still want to use it, i recommend you to use it when you have the bandolier perk because you will have more bullets.
Light Machine Gun (LMG): M249 SAW, as you all have tried or not you will notice this gun is very fast at shooting and it kinda “drills” the enemy to pieces. It has low damage and I recommend you to use the Red Dot site with it every time. Since it’s very fast at shooting, i decided to test if i used double tap for it what will the outcome be?And i think you should use that for the P90 SMG and the SAW. RPD is also one of the guns in the LMG category and it is very balanced in every attribute. I recommend you using the Grip with it because for Perk 1 there are Bandolier, Claymore, C4 etc. and you will be using this gun for the gun fights. You should notice that the gun RPD has 100 bullets and it is rare that you can use all the bullets. Claymore and C4 is even more awkward, they are for snipers and S and D games. If your even playing S and D you should be using a silenced weapon! M60e4 I don’t know what to say about it.
Shotguns: No point of describing any of them since they are basically the same. They should be used in close combat game levels like, Vacant, Shipment and Wet Work.
Sniper: M40A3 is not an automatic gun. It is very good for holding down the breathe because it stays in the same place for a long time. The M21 is an automatic like the Dragunov and Barrett 50.Calliber. The Dragunov is very……I don’t know how to describe it. The R700 is like the M40A3 but it is much more pwerful. The Barrett 50.Calliber is very powerful but it is too slow to reload. Hope you guys have fun with the game and try take my advice with the weapons.

  76. if anyone is interested:
    mp5 w/ silencer
    any pistol with silencer
    deep impact
    xtreme cond.
    smoke grenade
with claymores or c4 (great for headquarters or team tac.
can also use any smg w/ this set up for close quarters
    always great

    average: 25 kils 10 deaths

its a fast and stealthy way to play

  77. i own all of you

  78. its best 2 have 1 class for each type of gun/gameplay e.g

cslot1: ak47 w/silencer (still has quite long range with it)
    m9 w/silencer
    bandolier
    uav jammer
    steady aim
    cslot2: mp5 w/silencer
    m9 w/silencer
    bandolier
    uav jammer
    steady aim

cslot3: RPD w/red dot sight or grip
    m9 w/silencer
    bandolier
slieght of hand or stopping power
    steady aim or deep impact

cslot4: shotgun with perks (i cant decide wat 2have with shotty)

    cslot5: m40aoe3 (something like that)
    claymores or bandolier
stopping power (kills most enemies in 1 hit)
    steady aim (for no scopes)

  79. i love the m21 sniper because it can fire loadsa times in a row!!and barrett as well because you get an instant kill if you use stopping power

  80. i like the m16 with red dot sight, bandolier, stopping power and deep impact its the offensive type and the defensive/sneaky type is the m16 with silencer with bandolier UAV jammer and dead silence (if you havent unlocked dead silence then use martydom) hope this helps

  81. Nice tips! Also one thing that i found that put me in the top three more often is using both the stopping power and deep impact on all my guns. I use the M16 all the time, and you can kill someone in 1 or 2 bursts, depending on where you hit them. DEFINITELY put stopping power on any sniper, cuz i use the .50 cal all the time, and having that perk works wonders when you need to take someone out quick. I used to use the dragunov without the perk, and i hated it, cuz i had to hit them in the head or neck in order to kill them. Not the case, now! lol Also, if you are on a level with the fixed guns, if you can, when someone gets a helicopter, run to one and take it out…its easy and it takes like 10 seconds…

  82. I just bought this game 2 days ago…but i keep getting my ass kicked…

    any more tips?

or my reaction time just too slow? fingers can’t move fast enought???

  83. I went 50-8 on reg team deathmatch w/:

    G-36 (red dot) and 9mm
    *smoke grenade

    Bandolier
    stopping power
    steady aim

  84. (cont.) The level was Bog so the airstrikes and helicopters made it easier!!

I usually stick with the M16 as Chan. It is accurate, powerful, and for the 3rd perk deep impact is not necessary. It goes through the walls anyways w/o it. I usually have dead silence on instead.

  85. do you guys want to have a big team game and play against each other??i’ll organise a date an time
this is my ps3 name :toushiro-chan
add me and later on the week maybe saturday we can play a BIG game of team deathmatch or ground war!!ok guys??
i have some tips for some newer people to the game!!you need to know what weapons to use in each level ok?and if your always on the move then use a smg like mp5 ak74u or assault rifles like the the M4 carbine or the m16 (you have to be good at aiming and shoot fast but you can practice it) and use red dot sight for all of them ok? :D:D hope it works!! another one is NEVER THROW A GRENADE RANDOMLY WHERE YOU THINK PEOPLE WILL BE AND THEY’RE ARENT THERE BECAUSE IF YOU GOT A 3 KILL STREAK YOU CAN GET TWO KILLS WITH A GRENADE EASILY!!!!!!!!!

  86. oh yeah and this game will only be available to ps3 owners and i’m sorry for the people who have an xbox or the pc and cant play the game!! anyway have fun!!!!

  87. ok, since i am new, i am getting my ass kick all the time, who like to be my “teammate” and help me win some game?

    add me “yellowwaves”

  88. hey. ive been playing cod4 on xbox for about 2 weeks solid now and i want to gain loads more points to try and get to
higher classes. are some maps better than others for gaining points?
ohh and silly question really but who and how do the air strikes get called?
    cheers.

  89. You get an airstrike if you get 5 kills without dying and you call in in yourself. I find one of the best combos on team deathmatch is a silenced P90 and UAV Jammer. This means you can get round the back of enemies spawning points and pick them off when they dont even know you are there. I got an 18 kill streak on Wet Work using this technique.

Add my Xbox Live tag Insert Hypanova if you want to play me

  90. im only 11 and i got full prestige all golden guns

  91. you cant really tell some beginners to use the p90!! they are only at level 20-30 and p90 is only unlocked when your level 41
and if your trying to get people from behind you can use the MP5 with a silencer. It is good and you can use it when your on a low level

  92. so Brian H, what gun do you use the most? i’ll give you some tips if you need some :)

  93. ive just got a couple of tips, i have not read any tips on this page yet so please do not accuse me of taking ur tips.

If you are a big mp5 user, make sure to use the m9(3rd pistol i believe) just for the fact that they share ammo, giving you much more ammo in ur mp5.

A very good hardcore search and destroy weapon/perk combination is m16a4 with the double tap perk, just try it!

When using the mp5 make sure to use steady aim, ive watched videos of people sniping enemies with their mp5 with out even aiming.

Dont be scared to use the grenade launcher or juggernaut just because of what other people say, i mean, why wouldnt you use the best thing’s in the game.

In hardcore S&D always use bomb squad if you are a rusher. If you see claymores in a building you wont even need to rush in, just toss in a nade or w8 for them to comeout. This is very useful on ambush for both sniper towers.

Always keep a silenced gun, bomb squad, uav jammer, and dead silence class for the s&d matches where uav’s are called in a lot. When a uav is up, most people pay attention to the map, and not their surroundings.

Well i hope i helped alot of people.

  94. I like to use light machine gun…SAW
    or
    M16

    like i said…maybe it’s my reaction time…i can’t react fast enough….

  95. I Got CoD4 the day it came out… at midnight (i play PC btw… and only hardcore mode)

So Anyways…. Like many people have said, there are no “Perfect Combos” you just need to find what you are comfortable with. As a rule of MINE i always take Bandiloader no matter what game type we are playing or what weapon i am using. Also, nobody really uses this but with Bandiloader i like to use Slight Of Hand, not only does it let you reload stupid fast but it lets you swap weapons, knife people, plant C4/claymores, and even throw grenades faster and farther. For the last perk that depends on what i’m playing. If i’m sniping i take Iron Lung, if i am using a heavy mg i take steady aim, otherwise i really just take whatever i feel like having at the time…

    As for Weapons…

For sniping i either use the .50 Cal or the bolt action sniper that you start with. The .50 cal is sweet and you can blow through walls with it but with the bolt action rifle you have to pick your shots and not miss or else.

If its close quarters i use the p90 but if you don’t have that yet take the MP5. The red dot scope is a must with the p90 and it does not make a lot of noise in the first place, but with the MP5, the iron sites are not bad so i usually take a silencer.

if its farther away i either take the G36C if its urban because of the full auto capabilities (M4 carbine as an alternate) or if its outdoors (like overgrown) i would take a G3 with the scope.

i personally find the red dot scope to be a godsend for me when i play hardcore mode… it makes it easy to be sure that you hit them in the chest… Silencers are somewhat useless on hardcore mode because there is no mini-map and if you hit them they are usually dead(unless its in the hand or the foot)

  96. i think HQ is really good for a way to get killls and getting points!! because normally you would ge about 300+ points and thats amazing for beginners!

  97. im on the tenth prestige and what got me there was sheer ditermination and an M16
    with red dot or agoc
m9 no silencer it makes aiming harder
    stun grenades slows people down
    claymores or RPGs
UAV jammer for hardcore or stopping power for none hardcore games
depp impact Dead silence (for sneaky misssioning) extrem conditioning
and when you nulock it the G36c cannot be faulted with any attachmentit’s actually that good of a gun

  98. i’m playing cod now and i just thought i’d share my achieve ment 39 and 2 on hardcore team deathmatch im absolutley amazed =|

  99. I conside myself as a pro. I am mostly a free for all player and i have come in first 84 times in a row! Its true, i didnt even believe it(if you dont believe me check it out gamertag: foundviper). All I can say is that if you want to be good in call of duty its not about the shooting but more about movement. I \f you know how to move around the map you can wn almost eveytime!

  100. add me guys!

    yellowwaves

  101. hello, been playing cod4 for a while, but i cant seem to get my bluetooth headset working. i have one that i normally use for my phone, but i dont know how to connect it on COD. any ideas?

  102. Rak, I didnt know There was Bluetooth for the Xbox 360.

I had 70 or 75 Kills in a Ground war game on Shipment. M16 w/Red dot, Triple frag and martyrdom baby. Then again, I probably died 100+ Times

  103. Oh, and I wanted to mention,

Playing Search and Destroy? Two rounds in a row go bye, and you get killed by the same camper twice in a row, same spot? He’ll be there the third time. Watch for patterns and try to move around and flank the repeating campers

  104. An amazing class for search and destroy is the p90 silenced with juggernaut. The fire rate of the p90 is amazing and the juggernaut gives you a decent chance to return fire if you start to get shot from behind. This class works on most maps but for the larger, open maps try to camp more because the range on the p90 is pretty bad.

Also if you feel you are comfortable with a sniper and you are good with the scope, try putting on the ACOG. It is brill.

Happy playing and anybody who wants a 7th prestige in their clan add me as a friend n we can see if im the right guy 4 gamebattles.com domination :)

  105. my gamer tag is RhysBuxton

  106. Check it out I call it rapid fire with overkill g36c-granede launcher, m4 scoope, with xtra penetration. G36c 4 in your face combat and m4 scoope 4 when they r running 4 cover. I also like the pro, overkill with any sniper so I get the camuflage second weapon m16 scoope with steady aim. Great 4 creek. My fave is the classic, m4 red dot, with claymore, sleight of hand and deep penetration.

  107. 360 people add me on live and we own some noobs name: luke0wnz ps: 0= zero

  108. my class i have now is the

Primay Weapon: m40a3 Sniper.. (coz i have red tiger on Dragnov)
    Secondary: P90
    Perk 1: Claymore
Perk 2: Iron Lungs or Double Tap
    Perk 3: Overkill

    is this good??
im lvl 52.. already done prestige mode… this my second time through.

  109. add my gamer tag… if you have already done prestige mode and join my Clan
    clan name : DoS
    gamertag: ThomasBrothers

  110. Hi guys, the best tip I can offer is that when you achieve 7 kills in a row ( helicopter support), get yourself killed. This is because that when you respawn, your helicopter support is still available! The helicopter will rack up kills so you can call in UAV then onto airstrike. Before you know it, you have helicopter support again! Good luck guys. Add me PS3 gopearce.

  111. At the moment i am using:

    Close Quarters (main class)
    Mp5 silenced
    bandolier
Stoppingpower (i aint no juggernoob, fool ;D )
    Steadyaim

    Long / medium range
    M16 red dot sight
    Bandolier
    Stoppingpower
    deepimpact

    Sniper class
    M40A3
    Claymore x2
    Stoppingpower
    Iron lungs

    Subsniper / S & D sniper
    M21 Acog scope
    Frag x3
Juggernaught (ok, maybe i am a juggernoob, slightly :D )
    steadyaim

As you see, i am mainly orientated on the first few bullets hitting. I play on Xbox360 version, and am 8th prestige at the moment and incresing rapidly, i am a fast paced player, and occasionly rush the enemy. All i can say is play for fun, and ignore the comments like ‘omg noob’ etc…. Get good with one gun and try to stick with it, you will become a pro in no time :)

Also, add me - GT = Brennay

  112. Hey Mark,
my xbox broke and and I have been away from cod4 for about 6 months, now before it broke I used to play normal mode, but when I got back onto the game most of my friends had moved onto hardcore. Combined with the difficulty of hardcore compared to normal and plus the fact I’m rusty, Im finding it very hard to adjust. What I’m finding hard in particular is the fact I die so easily, which makes it alot harder to travel or even just expose yourself at a window while sniping for example. What I also find difficult is the fact that you cannot rely on your health in one on one fights, like I mentioned earlier your health is less, so that means if you don’t shoot first your dead basically, in normal mode you can garuntee your death won’t be as quick, so you can shoot back and kill them if your more accurate, which I was and I got alot of kills this way, but on hardcore it doesn’t work. I was wondering if you could offer me any tips that will help me out, before my kill/death ratio perishes in flames. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

    Joe

  113. The combination that I started off with when i first started playing the game is the same one i still use today
    ak47 red dot
frag x3 or flash x3 (i added that after i earned it)
    stopping power
    steady aim

for CQ (close quarters for those of you with no military service)
P90 red dot, flash: or silenced with smoke
    frag x3
martyrdom (hey, noobs use it alot but it works so why not.. even the best pros run into these)
    steady aim/uav jammer

if you use silenced with uav, you’ll be golden in levels like pipeline and bloc
for levels like showdown and vacant i wouldnt recommend using a silencer its pointless because its too light and there is such high traffic everywhere.

Brennay is right. If you find one weapon you are comfortable with and you master it and stick with it, you’ll be golden on this game. Good point Brennay.

If any of you are halfway decent at search and destroy and headquarters, send me a friend request. I’d like to get a team together where we could get real good at playing with each other and go dominate this game.

    Ok, thing’s i’ve learn since I’m playing…

    1- Claymores
Claymore, aka my bests friends. In maps like Backlot, you can win 1vs1 (the mode I play the most) only with them.

Have in mind that a claymore takes about 1 sec to explode, so you must prevent where will your enemy will run/walk after he/she activiates it.

In Backlot, 1vs1… you know that zone with a small garden, and 3 structures connected? Put a claymore on the entrance, at bit at the left. 70% of guys die inmediatly there. After putting the clay there, take the stairs and go through the 3 buildings until the other stairs. In the door, put anoter clay, oriented to the sun shine. This one isn’t that efective, but don’t care. Now get to one of the buildings and look around the map, if you see your enemy take it down with your M21 (because you’re using a M21 paired with a pistol, NO?). If not, shot twice and get cover to the last building (the one with the sofa, where you putted your second clay). and wait behind the sofa.

Now your enemy can’t do anything but coming after you. If it gets the stairs of the building you’re currently are, it’`ll probably step on the clay, if it doesnt die, throw grenades or use your pistol.

If your enemy tries to get to you going thrugh the garden, it will probably die with that claymore, if he doesn’t, crouch and wait for it aiming with your M21 to the garden stair’s door. It’ll can’t surprise you taking the other way because you already have a clay on that door. After you kill him, you can wait it under the stairs (west) or next to the garden’s door (easth).

It may look complex, but I’ve defeated at least 15 guys using that.

    2- Sound

Oh. You can’t imagine how much guys I have killed when they were behind me RUNNING. i stop often, and hear the environment. If you don’t have claymores to know where are your enemies, sound is really important.

    My class…

    Name: Lagunator

    AK-74u (Red Tiger) Without accessory
    M21 / Barret Cal.50 Without accessory
    Flash Grenade

    P1- Claymore x2
    P2- Stopping Power
P3- Last Stand (people say I’m god/good using it)

That’s all for now, I might write something more later. Add me please, my PSN is AC-Laguna

  116. Ac-Laguna, just a tip. Try using a silencer with your smg, since you are aware of the sounds in the environment, you should keep yourself Concealed (i think thats how its spelt) from the enemy so you can snipe, and the run and pick off people on your way to your next sniper spot.

Also, i found me a new favourite gun:
Mac 11 - a.k.a Mini Uzi With silencer
    Stopping power
    steadyaim
    Bandolier.

Good class, great spray potential. i ended up with 22 / 1 in S&D Vacant, and with Ak47 silenced with the same perks i ended up with 51 / 20 on Teamtactical (Headquarters) Ambush.

    Gamertag = Brennay

  117. Hey guys, i just got COD4 on the PC. I’m level 20 something at the moment and i find these tips very helpful.
    My Favorite class would be….

    Mini-Uzi w. silencer
    USP or M9.119 w. silencer
    3 stun/flashbang
    Steady Aim
    Martyrdom

  118. Yo! I play Call of Duty 4 on the XBOX360.

    I use four classes mainly.

    Class 1: ‘Basic’.
Primary Weapon: Mp5 (Red Dot Sight) (Red Tiger Camo)
    Secondary Weapon: M9
    Grenade: Flashbang
    Perk 1: Claymore x2
    Perk 2: Stopping Power
    Perk 3: Martyrdom

^ Works well on most modes and maps.

    Class 2: ‘Advanced Sniper’.
    Primary Weapon: M40A3
    Secondary Weapon: USP .45
    Grenade: Smoke
    Perk 1: Claymore x2
    Perk 2: UAV Jammer
    Perk 3: Iron Lungs

    ^ Perfect for camp sniping.

    Class 3: ‘Rusher’.
    Primary Weapon: P90
    Secondary Weapon: M9
    Grenade: Stun
    Perk 1: Bandolier
    Perk 2: Sleight of Hand
    Perk 3: Steady Aim

^ This class works wonders on Shipment. 60-80+ kills the majority of the time.

    Class 4: Stealth.
Primary Weapon: Mp5 (Silencer) (Red Tiger Camo)
    Secondary Weapon: M9 (Silencer)
    Grenade: Flashbang
    Perk 1: Claymore x2 / C4 x3
    Perk 2: Stopping Power
    Perk 3: Dead Silence

^ Pretty decent for Search & Destroy

    Class 5: Overkill.
    Primary Weapon: G36c
    Secondary Weapon: Dragunov (ACOG Scope)
    Grenade: Flashbang
    Perk 1: Claymore x2
    Perk 2: Overkill
    Perk 3: Last Stand

^ I use this class for mobile sniping.

As you can see, I use all of my class options. Many people use two and save the other sections to experiment. This would be a good idea, but I’d advise you all to get to know the maps and create your classes to suit the environment. Shipment, for instance. I get more kills with a P90 and Steady Aim, than I would with M16A4. Also, on Wetwork, my Overkill class (5) comes in very handy as the balcony’s and the ease of access to the top of the cargo containers. The use of the ACOG on this map will get your kill count up quite significantly.

Before I go, one tip i’d give is for Search & Destroy is not to rush in to plant/defuse a bomb. Search the surroundings for the bomb planter first. S/he will be obviously monitoring the bomb, ready to pick off anyone who attempts to defuse it. And vice versa for planting. Claymores and C4’s come in handy for the Search & Destroy game mode, especially when you’re on the defending team.

I got a few more tips, but I’ll have to share them another time. I hope you found my classes helpful, the’ve certainly helped me a lot!

    Take Care.

PS: Any XBOX360 gamers, feel free to add me. My Gamertag is ScouseLee.

  119. im level 1 prestige 23 so im not a noob i know what im talking about. im here to give you tips.

1 of my favourite maps(now) is wet work, about 95% of people go on the floor and try to flank people but there is a secret to the map, on one side theres a part where you can see the fighting from the captains deck if you pull out a sniper rifle, you’ll get 15-20 kills if your an average sniper. the problem with this is that its only on 1 side of the map so you better hope you start off on that side of the map.

Backlot is a good map, heres a tip, KEEP MOVING!!!!! dont stay in 1 spot. people try to go on the roof in the building in the middle, it works for 2 mins untill some1 u killed hides and snipes you, theres good cover so pick your shots and keep moving.

Overgrown is a sniper rifle must have map, u must use cover to their fullest potential, i find people with the Overkill perk do the best, when you move place to place you have a powerful weapon to help, you’ll find an enemy moving to another spot, better use the guile suit and use the brush to your advantage, go prone alot and pick your shots on other snipers

Bog is an interesting place, more tempting then anything, should i go sniper or rifle, go both!! try flanking snipers, go on the outside, pull out your assault rifile or w/e you want if you someone out in the open in the middle, pull out your sniper and kill them, beware on flanking though, your enemies will do the same, i think a shotgun is a good secondary choice because there is alot of in close encounters, one shot does the trick

Countdown is a map where there is endless amounts of cover, use this to ur advantage, begginers should try the outiside of the map while pros should go up the middle, grenades and assault rifles are crucial, alot of encounters will be from mid range

Ambush is a map that has many tricks, the pipe hole is a must use if u dont want to be picked of by a sniper, a lmg or assault rifle is a must have primary while the shotgun is a must for a secondary, alot of encounters are close to mid-range, if ur going to be a sniper, BE ONE!!!!!! dont start running around like an idiot with a pistol, camp use c4 and claymores and defend ur area, use overkill if nessesary

Crash is a map that you must be stealth in, use and rpg to blow away the people hidding in buildings and 3 frags is good 2, an important thing is to make your shot then move, hide behind cover, shoot and move

Pipeline is a map where u must be stealth, silencer, UAV Jammer, Dead Noise w/e it takes, sneak up on snipers or kill them with ur own sniper rifle, use cover and flank people, its the best strategy

Distrcit is a map that you need to do is to keep moving on nothing else, all you need is an assault rifle with deep impact shooting will be from mid range a couple from close.

the rest i dont do, i usually play hardcore so this works the best for that game mode. Quick tips for begginers: if your going to snipe dont stay in one spot unless you have uav jammer, pick your shots and stay quiet. everyone else, use cover and be smart. thx. PS: rend me a message, im masscanada ps3

  120. all the other crap about what weapon is the best is stupid, every weapon is good in different situations, use what your comftorable with, if you have a bad game dont worry, try mixing your strategy up in game if the 1 ur using isn’t working, adjust to the way the other team is playing, exploit there weaknesses, call of duty is about exploiting weakness and countering what the other team is doing and the biggest thing is teamwork, games are not won with a 1 man team some times a team of 3 that works well together is better then a team of 6 trying to do it all by themselves and the last thing is pay attention and learn from others, take note, if a player is have a good game, take note of what there doing thats successful on the map, and take note of the weakness, and make them strengths. BTW i meant send me a message on my post above once again masscanada ps3

  121. Hey guys, I was reading some earlier comments, and thought I would post my classes.

    Perk 1: 2x C4
    Perk 2: UAV Jammer
    Perk 3: Martydom

This is what I use and it works pretty well. Please tell me how it works for you =D. GOOD LUCK!

  122. the best setup to hv on shipment for expierienced players is bandoilers overkill and martydom this will help stop u runnin out of ammo and martydom will count towards ur nxt streak so its all gd. also if u are not very gd at sniping dont hv overkill i have a friend tht does and he puts the barrat there so if u are crpa at sniping dnt use overkill or put a second gun which aint a sniper. i play on ps3 prestige 7 level 19 my name is dawesyboy add me peace out

  123. use claymores on search and destroy because they stay there after u die. also go to defuse the bomb bt thn stop after a second and they will come runnin out to try n kill u bt thn u kill thm

  124. If anyone one here is in a clan, be sure to have every clan member on your team have a class that has a uav jammer and silcener gun. this really works well in maps where u can have ur whole team hide in one place and just pick off ppl walking by. this definetly works well in the pool in bloc. me and my clan team basicly had that place sealed up with c4 and claymores and the team. this was in groundwars so it was a lot of fun with a lot of ppl. ADD MY 360 GAMERTAG, backburner96.

  125. I might want to add a few tips myself… I’ll also add my classes after the tips. My gamertag is Kilik Ali12, and I am rank 45 prestige 7. (As of this post)

    1. Never stand still while in a firefight. 99.9% of the time, you WILL die. I highly recommend strafing where possible, or going prone behind cover, then jumping out unexpectedly. This isn’t a 100% way of killing, but your enemy might not expect you to counter like that:)

    2. Some people might say otherwise, but try using the ACOG scope with a sniper rifle! There are multiple advantages and disadvantages with it over a regular scope. (which have helped me on numerous occasions)

Advantages - Faster look down the sights - Sway isn’t as high as with a regular scope
Disadvantages - Unable to hold breath - Shot can “veer off” - Can’t see as far as with a regular scope

The ACOG is perfect for what I call a traveling sniper - a sniper who moves across the battlefield as if he were on assault. Being able to zoom in quickly can be a life-saver.

    3. Communication! In team-based objective matches such as Domination or Headquarters, try to communicate with your team so you’re on the same page. Help out that guy trying to capture C!

    4. In a team-based game, makes all actions you do count towards the team - a.k.a. - don’t stray from what needs to be done. If all you’re going to do is isolate yourself from your team and work alone, consider Free-for-All or Cage Match as your calling.

    5. When placing an airstrike, consider how much damage you can do. Ask your teammates if anyone has a UAV to call in, so you can locate them effectively. Always place it where your enemies are GOING, not where they ARE. For this, let the UAV scan the map at least 2 or 3 times.

    6. The helicopter may seem powerful, but know that primary weapons CAN harm it. The RPG-7 is most effective as one shot brings the helicopter from 1100 “health” to 100. The RPG is ALWAYS a one-hit kill against a helicopter IF you have Sonic Boom equipped.

    7. Camping is good defense, but consider the counters. Anyone chucking a a frag in gets a free kill. Remember to relocate if needed. Always destroy nearby red barrels or cars so they can’t be used to kill you. A good tip - stun grenades ALWAYS detonate red barrels. This is helpful is you don’t have anymore frags. Or you could shoot it… (Or throw a stun near a far-away red barrel and secure a kill:))

    8. As Jason said above, all weapons have their uses. Knowing what weapon to use in what situation is vital. Having your own opinion is fine, but don’t judge a weapon because it’s “cheap” or whatever. I’ve heard countless complaints from people about “M16 n00bl3t$”. People will use what they find comfortable. If an M16 works, by god, use it! Don’t use a different weapon just because some guy said it’s cheap!

    9. If you’re an inexperienced or intermediate player, consider listening to experts in-game for more information. They may help a lot, or a little. Or, if you want, XBOX Live, and I’d be happy to give you tips “mic to mic”.

    10. Martyrdom is a perk I’ve seen countless times. Knowing when it’ll come is crucial to staying alive after that hard-earned kill. First of all, if you know someone has Martyrdom, memorize the names of those who do. Evading the nade or throwing it elsewhere will be easier if you know they have Martyrdom. Second, know when to throw it back and when to run. If you’re near it right as it drops, try throwing it back. Believe it or not, I’ve gotten a lot of kills this way. Consider throwing it into narrow hallways or towards another fast-approaching enemy. Make sure to not throw it AT him, but in FRONT of him.

    11. With either bolt-action sniper rifle, (the M40A3 or R700) you can reload one bullet at a time by holding RT after pressing X to reload. This can also be done to reload two, three, or release RT to reload all four. This can help in situations where you need another quick shot.

    12. The step towards becoming an expert travel-sniper is to perfect the art of “no-scoping”, killing someone with a scoped weapon WITHOUT looking down the sights. No-scoping helps situations where you have no time to switch to a pistol. Knowing where to position it is a different story. I cannot explain my method of no-scoping as it would take too long, but Steady Aim helps the bullet follow a straight path 50% of the time. Remember - no-scoping can be helpful, but don’t rely on it. It is mostly luck that gets you a kill. If you rush in with a sniper rifle all the time, thinking you can just no-scope them, you will get killed about 70% of the time. Try to make no-scoping a last resort.

Well, those are my 12 tips. If you want to learn more from my personal experience, contact me over XBOX Live. My gamertag, again, is Kilik Ali12. Here are my five classes:

    #1
    Primary: M40A3
    Attachment: ACOG Scope
    Secondary: Desert Eagle
    Special Grenade: Stun

    Perk 1: Claymore x2
    Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Steady Aim (This is my “no-scoping” class.)

    #2
    Primary: P90
    Attachment: Silencer
    Secondary: Desert Eagle
    Special Grenade: Stun

    Perk 1: Frag x3
    Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning (This is a good class for modes like Domination, HQ, and S & D, as flanking is important in all 3 of these modes, and EC will help you get there faster..)

    #3
    Primary: G36C
    Attachment: Silencer
    Secondary: Desert Eagle
    Special Grenade: Stun

Perk 1: Special Grenades x3 (Bandolier is a good substitution)
Perk 2: Double Tap (Is good with a low-recoil weapon like the G36C.)
    Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning

    #4
    Primary: M16A4
    Attachment: Red Dot Sight (RDS)
    Secondary: Desert Eagle
    Special Grenade: Stun

    Perk 1: Frag x3
    Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Deep Impact (This class is a perfect camper class, but Deep Impact can be replaced with Martyrdom or Dead Silence)

    #5
    Primary: R700
    Attachment: None
    Secondary: Desert Eagle
    Special Grenade: Flash

    Perk 1: Claymore x2
    Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Deep Impact (This is my camping sniper class; perfect long-range killer. Make sure to make every shot count, as ammo is scarce with this gun. Remember that you can get more ammo from a G3, M40, or even your own R700 if you died..)

Well, that’s all I got to tell you guys. Hope these tips helped you! (Yes, I love the Desert Eagle, and am considered deadly with it..) Please acknowledge that I am not trying to one-up anyone, and that getting pissed over a post is pretty childish..

  126. A general tip in this game, for those people who want to get good fast, is to know the maps you play on! If you play on a map and get lost easily, consider going into a private match and exploring the map(s) you have trouble with. This can help you familiarize yourself with the area and help you flank a lot easier.

  127. theres been a lot written about classes here bt i change my classes regularly cus i hv a class called challenge this helps me do certain challenges and therfore rise levels faster. im gd wv most weapons bt if ur nt thn dnt do it stick to weapons ur gd at or risk ur kdr lowering and u nt gettin as many points as u shud!

  128. Oh yes, I change my classes frequently as well to complete certain weapon challenges. Sometimes my friends give me class recommendations, so I try those out. My brother told me about the G36c/Double tap combo, so I tried that out, and I like it now.

  129. i like to use the g36c, mp5, ak-74 and m40 for sniping. can u give me some ideas for classes. o yea and i like to play search and destroy and hq alot for that helps.

  130. if u use marty you will be a noob and never get good at the game its the worst perk to choose and people will hate you for it

  131. the best combo for hardcore search and destroy is
G3 - silencer (its a one hit kill in Hardcore S&D)
Desert Eagle - (dosent matter your highest pistol)
Claymores/Frags x3 - (depends on your type of game)
Sonic Boom - (there really isnt anything else to put on it)
Dead Silence - (No one can hear you walking which is good because a lot of times people like to listen in on your footsteps)

  132. These are the 5 classes i use
I Play Search and Destroy and HQ.

    Class 1: Loud n’ Crazy
    G36C - Red Dot Sight
    Desert Eagle
    Stun Gernade
    Frags x3
Double Tap - (pwns with G36C)
    Extreme Conditioning

Class 2: You Cant See Me
    MP5 - Silencer
    M9 - Silencer (more MP5 ammo)
    Smoke Gernade
    C4 x2/Claymores x2 - (depends on map)
    UAV Jammer
    Extreme Conditioning

    Class 3: Monsta Shot
    M40A3 - ACOG Scope
    Desert Eagle
    Stun Gernade
    Claymores x2
    Stopping Power
    Steady Aim

    Class 4: Fast n’ Furious
AK-47/AK-74u - Red Dot Sight (Trying to decide which one is better)
    Desert Eagle
    Flashbang
Frags x3/Claymores x2 - (Frags HQ, Claymores SND)
    Sleight of Hand
    Extreme Conditioning

    Class 5: Last Resort
    M4 Carbine - Silencer
    Desert Eagle
    Flashbang
    Bomb Squad
    Stopping Power
    Steady Aim

These are the classes that i use and they help me out a lot. ADD ME PSN ID: CLAXP (8th Prestige, LVL 50)

  133. Use for headquarters
    MP5 with Red dot
    Desert eagle
    Perk 1:3 frags
    Perk 2: Stopping Power
    Perk 3:Matrydom
got me 143 kills for 51 deaths on Headquarters on PS3
got me more than 100 kills about 4 times

  134. Quick tip for you novices out there - Sensitivity is a key attribute to getting better at this game. Sensitivity is how fast your player reacts to your actions on the joypad.

I play at 7 but the defauly is set to 2. The higher the sensitivity the quicker the player reflex. obviusly harder to control the player though so test in private mode first.

Hip firing is also a must. Dont be silly and try to zoom in when the player is close range (especially with RDS).

ANother tip is DONT USE OVERKILL - worst possible perk! Instead, change your secondary weapon for a gun from a dead enemy once the game starts

  135. mos i cant agree with you more about the hip firing and the overkill one. Also bandoiler da 2nd worst perk. if you pick up a gun from a dead enemy not only do you have another gun and guess what more ammo

  136. True say. I think Bandolier is useful if you are attacking in small maps or spaces but apart from that - dont bother.

UAV jammer - dont bother with this is S n D.. its rare that a player gets 3 kills out of 6 in one round. go for stopping power instead as perk 2.

    CLAXP add me on PS3 - i’m mos_lfc
    - probably wont accept until friday night as im working away from home!

  137. The combo of Golden shotgun (or any shotgun) Silenced pistol, Bomb squad, UAV Jammer and Martyrdom works very well on basically all maps except for perhaps Bloc as it is normally too much of a sniper map. The same for Creek. Bomb Squad means you won’t get caught out by claymores when using the UAV Jammer you sneak up behind the snipers and the Martyrdom means that if you are in close combat you are likely to kill the person who just killed you. A brilliant combination!

  138. Oh and by the way. Don’t listen to people who call you noobs for using certain perks or weapons- If it works use it. Don’t let people tell you just because they don’t like the gun that you can’t use it. Don’t listen to them.REBEL!
