Licensing agreements have meant that not all national teams have correct player names. This is controlled by a mask. The players exist in the system but the mask blocks them and changes the names. To get rid of the mask remove a file called fake inc from C:/Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008/data/db/800/lnc/all. It is important not to delete this file. Now when you load up the game you will see all the correct players.

You assume the role of leading crime investigator Ethan Thomas and you have been sent to the dark underworld of Metro city to investigate a string of murders. Ethan is plagued by previous cases and the hard-nosed ass kicker has a slight issue with alcohol. It’s especially hard to relate to Ethan when he goes around killing innocent bystanders because he believes they are monsters.

Despite the mindless violence Bloodshot is an extremely clever and enjoyable game. The game blends elements of first person shooters; beat em up and puzzle games. The most noticeable element of the game is the combat style. It is simply brilliant. You have to use two different buttons to control each of his fists and you can almost feel every knuckle strike an opponents face.

Despite much of the brilliance of the game there are some short falls. Firstly if you didn’t get chance to play the first game you might struggle with the storyline of this one. It fails to bring gamers up to speed, which we feel may alienate some people. Some of the games levels are also to long and some elements of the game feel very repetitive. Overall these drawbacks take little away from what is a brilliant game. If you are sitting twiddling your thumbs waiting for GTA IV then you may want to give Bloodshot a whirl.
