There are plenty of articles zooming around the internet right now with info on CES ‘09. It’s easy to become overwhelmed by it all, so I decided to write an article to help everyone keep on top of things.
I’ll start by giving you a quick summary of the stats Sony gave us (from the mouth of Kaz Hirai, Sony head):
- The PlayStation Network has 17 million users/accounts (impressive, although this is is likely to include multiple accounts on a single PS3).
- 2.1 million new accounts created in December ‘08 alone.
- PSN has sold 330,000 items since its inception.
- LittleBigPlanet sales have reached 1.3 million.
- LBP now has over 300,000 user generated levels.
- LBP also has a total overall playing time of two years.
Although LittleBigPlanet is great, I don’t know if a game should get the same amount of focus as the console itself.
In part 2 I will discuss some release dates and game information released by Sony. Stay Tuned.
