Dead Space is a sci-fi horror game being published by Electronic Arts. It contains immense volumes of blood and gore set upon an alien-infested spaceship. The usual concept of being in control of a super-human character is used, along with many of the cliché shoot ‘em up rules.
Dead Space was originally scheduled to release in late October but the release date has been brought forward slightly to October 14. It will launch simultaneously on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It’s always good to see a game release dates being pushed earlier rather than later, as has become a trend in recent years.
If you doubt the level of violence the game will offer, it has already been banned in Germany, China and Japan. Granted all these countries have been known for banning games in the past, but it shows they are doing something right (or wrong depending on how you view it). Surprisingly, the game is still set for release in Australia, which is traditionally very strict with game violence. However there are rumours that the country will be receiving a slightly cut-down version of the game.
