In a recent interview, Pete Hines from Bethesda, the developers behind Fallout 3, clearly stated Trophies will be making an appearance on the PS3 version eventually. When questioned about the lack of Trophy support, Hines said “It’s going to happen” but continues to say he is “not sure when”.
He tries to reassure us by stating, “We’ll let folks know when we have something more definitive.”
At least we know the game will be getting Trophies at some point. I’m holding off buying Fallout 3 for now anyway due to a lack of money and other game priorities such as LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 and Call of Duty: World at War all due this month. Fallout 3, along with Mirror’s Edge and Dead Space are all Christmas list items or post-Xmas game purchases for me.
I should mention that the Xbox 360 version shipped with achievements included, like every other Xbox 360 game. This shows the rewards system is still dominated by Microsoft’s white box.
