I don’t usually make posts about console hardware unless it is a new console itself or something major. I especially avoid talking about third party peripherals, because let’s face it, I’d be writing a hundred posts a day.
That being said, I am now writing an article about a new wireless PlayStation 3 controller, called Wildfire. What’s so special about this controller you ask? Well this PS3 controller uses the PS3′s built in Bluetooth. So no external dongle required.
This still isn’t massive news as a new controller is no big whoop-dee-do, but it could mean more future peripherals becoming dongle-less. I, for one, hate the fact we still need a WiFi adaptor for Buzz! Quiz TV. The console supports advanced Bluetooth technology for heavens sake!
THE GOOD
- No dongles required!
- Features Motion and Vibration
THE BAD
- Nothing ground-breaking over the DualShock 3
BIT OF BOTH
- Programmable Rapid Fire Buttons – I still think this is cheating, but some like it
The Wildfire has an RRP at £29.99 in the UK and $39.99 in the US.
