Following on from yesterdays post regarding the 2.50 firmware update on the PlayStation 3, the semi-official UK PlayStation blog, Three Speech, have announced an additional feature. This feature wasn’t mentioned in the original PlayStation.Blog article for some reason.
The blog states that with the v2.50 update “Flash 9 content becomes supported on the Internet Browser”.
This isn’t of great concern to everyone, but it is good if you like to use Flash software such as the BBC iPlayer and similar websites.
It also means people who develop Flash applications and games will find it much easier to port current ones or even create whole new ones for the platform. Flash 9 features full-screen so I wonder if this will be supported by the PS3 as well, I certainly hope so!
