Yep, you read right. A tech demo of Gran Turismo running at a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels has been shown in a bizarre experiment over on the Gran Turismo website. Here are some of the key, astounding facts derived from the test:
• Displayed on a 220 inch project screen (a cinema projector by Sony)
• Resolution of 3840 x 2160, that’s double the horizontal and vertical of 1080p (or 4x the total display area)
• Running at 240 frames per second
• 8.3 million colours after merging
The experiment involved a new technology, combining 4 PlayStation 3’s and utilising the super-sharp high def Sony cinema projector, the SRX-110.
