One of the single most eagerly awaited gaming titles on the Xbox 360, Gears of War 2, has had its achievement list revealed. IGN has published the entire list of awards that can be unlocked; there is a fairly big amount to work at.
The Gears of War 2 achievement system also makes use of the new linked achievements feature coming to the Xbox 360, rewarding you with game items or features for unlocking certain achievements in other games. For example, if you find 10 cogs in the first Gears of War, not only do you get an achievement but you will also gain access to Minh Young Kim in the Gears of War 2 multiplayer.
The second instalment also boasts new ideas including chainsaw duelling and a range of execution moves to perform on downed enemies.
The official GoW2 website also describes some achievements not mentioned in the IGN list:
Crossed Swords – Points 10
Win 10 chainsaw duels (any mode).A Parting Gift – Points 20
Kill 10 enemies with a grenade while down but not out (any mode).Pound of Flesh – Points 10
Use a meatshield to save your life 10 times (any mode).Photojournalist – Points 10
Submit a spectator photo.Kick ‘Em When They’re Down – Points 10
Perform all 11 unique executions on a downed enemy.
The game is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Gears of Wars (no shock there). It is due for release on November 7 worldwide, with pre-orders of the limited and standard editions occupying the 9th and 10th spots respectively on Amazon.co.uk.
