This could be the shock of the year. Phil Harrison announces that he will be leaving Sony at the end of the month. Harrison has given no formal reason for his imminent departure but many believe his recent outburst about Sony Japan could be a contributing factor. It has been rumoured that he was pissed off by Sony Japans lack of commitment to social gaming. Harrison has a great passion for this area and believes certain people are impeding progression in this area.
Phil Harrison has had an illustrious 15 year career at Sony and pushed the Playstation console to new heights. In many respects he is the Steve Jobs of Sony. A master at giving keynote speeches and delivering the news fans have been waiting for. He is a forward thinker and is constantly pushing the boundaries of video games technology.
Harrison is rumoured to be joining Atari and looks to strengthen their market position in casual gaming. We have a huge amount of respect for Phil and wish him the very best in the future.
