Behind the closed doors of an exclusive retailer conference the whispers of a June the 12^th release date for Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriot grow louder. Inside sources are suggesting that the release of Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriot will coincide with the release of a new bundle pack by Sony. The pack is believed to include a copy of the new Metal Gear Solid, an 80 GB hard drive and a dual shock 3 pad which at present is only available in Japan. This news will not come as a surprise to gamers but fans will be pleased to see the return of the dual shock pad. There are also rumours that the special 80 GB console will include backwards compatibility again. Who knows how this will affect the price.

Metal Gear Solid is certainly going to be one of the big hitters of the year alongside Grand Theft Auto IV. Sony and Konami have put everything into this project and it is rumoured that they have to shift around 1 million units on its first day of sale. Sony has cleverly decided to release the rumble controller on the same day and include it in a buddle pack in order to get gamers to buy not only the game but also more Sony peripherals. This could work out nicely for both companies. Developers have also put a lot of time and effort into the online mode as this is where gamers seem to be spending most of their time.

The web is literally littered with information about Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriot but we thought this video was the most interesting. The video shows a live in game preview of the game and gives us a chance to see the ultra cool weapons in the game. This interested us most because it is not simply a show piece video showing off cool environments. It shows us how Snake looks and feels and how he interacts with the environments. We cant wait for this one.
