That’s right, the new feature that was announced for the PlayStation 3 at the E3 show in July is all over the place.
First of all, some eagle-eyed PSN users discovered that upon running the Folding@Home application they were prompted to update. Upon downloading the patch, the Folding@Home XMB icon and text changed to Life with PlayStation.
However, Sony removed the update shortly after, much to the disappointment of people like me who were at work during the time it was available. Well, not THAT disappointed, it is only a glorified news and weather application at the moment after all.
This all happened in the space of a few hours yesterday, which was Wednesday 17 September in case you read this more than a day after I post the article.
Now for some good news, Sony has officially released the application and it is available to download as you please. Simply go to the Folding@Home icon under Network on the XMB and upon clicking X you should be told an update is available. Download and install the update and you’ll have access to Life with PlayStation. That’s it.
