The aptly named gaming video website, GameTrailers, has awarded Sony with the GT Diamond Award. Sony ‘unlocked’ the Diamond ‘Trophy’ for its current flagship title, LittleBigPlanet, which reached a video download count of over 10 million. This momentous number resulted in GT awarding Sony Computer Entertainment and developers Media Molecule with the award.
That is alot of bandwidth usage!
Shane Satterfield, the Editor-in-Chief over at GameTrailers, said “With LittleBigPlanet, Sony and Media Molecule delivered a groundbreaking game that is also very entertaining, and we’re happy to deliver the Diamond Award to such a deserving game.”
Scott Steinberg, Vice President of Product Marketing at SCEA, responded to the award by saying “Winning the GameTrailers Diamond Award is a real honor for the whole team at SCEA and Media Molecule”.
This award perfectly portrays Sony and MM’s aims to get LBP spread to as many people as possible, both hardcore and casual gamers alike.
