I came back from my weekend of beer and food and decided to catch up on any gaming news I might have missed. One article in particular caught my attention from the guys over at TheSixthAxis.
It seems, rumour not definite, that noticeable amounts of levels are being “moderated” in the LittleBigPlanet universe. At first you might think ‘sure, that’s understandable’ but it seems there is in an increasing trend of “moderated” levels then been completely removed from existence.
A large number of the levels deleted so far seem to contain some sort of copyright infringement somewhere, with an aggravated poster at Kotaku claiming “Pacman, Batman, and Scrubs related” levels have been removed.
There is no official word on what the moderation process involves, but it would seem if you get a warning your level is up for moderation it might be time to say a quick farewell.
This whole mess could potentially drive away a huge proportion of users who loved the games open user-creation policies originally announced with the game. No-one wants to spend several hours making something that could be deleted a couple of days later.
