I was naughty. I should really have put a question mark at the end of that title, but I couldn’t resist. It is no way confirmed, verified, or even likely for that matter, however there is a slight hint towards Metal Gear Solid 4 making its way on to the Xbox 360.
MGS4 has long been one of the PS3s more boastful exclusives, giving Sony fanatics a tool the equivelant of a flame thrower in forums and comment sections worldwide. If Microsoft have managed to secure Snake on their console, it looks like those flame throwers might just have run out of fuel.
Any, putting “fanboyism” aside, it might be a good thing. MGS4 is a great game, one of those games that shouldn’t really be pigeon holed or hidden away from gamers.
If, however, you are worried about one of your biggest weapons slipping in to the ‘enemies’ hands, the source for this information may be quite reassuring. The info is part of a whole list given out on a Twitter feed.
A couple of the updates mention Metal Gear Solid 4 Oxide and describe it as being an exclusive to the Xbox 360, which will be announced at the end of Microsofts E3 speech.

Stuart. I don’t even know where to begin with that comment. I didn’t say it should come out on Xbox 360, I’m merely reporting a rumour. The game IS pigeon holed to the PlayStation 3, that’s not a negative, it just is. Your counter-argument that it is freely available as long as you own a PS3 just adds to that fact.

Like c-drive mentions below, I’d prefer Microsoft to never get hold of MGS because it is great for competition.
I prefer the PS3, I’ve said so many times here. But I still recognise the quality and advantages the Xbox 360 has.

Hopefully this is totally bogus like past rumors. I’m definitely a PS3 fan and don’t like the XBox but putting that aside, because XBox has better sales numbers, I don’t want PS3s better to lose its superior exclusives because I’m not sure what that would do for the PS3 and competition in the VG industry.
Competition always benefits the consumer in the end. It gives consumers choice and control to force brands to differentiate. If Xbox wants a piece of the pie, maybe one of their first-party developers should work on a title that compete for the MGS market? That would be better for gamers.
I’m sure it is just rumour-mongering, which unfortunately I choose to enflame this time around, simply because I hope it isn’t true.

MGS4 for PS3 came out June of 2008. It could very well be that the agreement with sony requires not only a timed exclusive–but a time where you can’t even announce the cross-platform title. One year is a common time frame. So…one year is about up, which means any 1-year gag-orders would be up soon. Would be big news at E3, would be something to “watch for” as we were suggested to do.
Should be fun. What with Sony likely to announce the GTA 4: The Lost and Condemned coming to PS3 too, if the rumours are to be believed that is.
Maybe next gen, they’ll skip all this messing about and bring out the Micronydo Wii60 Station (My-kro-nee-doh) and it will feature 10 minute games for £100/$150 each.

I don’t think its true,MGS4 took a staggering full 50gb’s of a blu ray disc and pushed the ps3′s hardware to its limit.Compared to the xbox’s 7 gb disc and weaker hardware theirs no way mgs4 could be successful on the xbox 360 as it was on the ps3.Think about the online components as well,do you think konami would go through the process of all the servers and expansion releases of mgo all over on another platform after nearly a year?Not likely.Personally i hope it stays and exclusive.

what you fail to realize is that konami is a business that needs and wants to make money and if that means going over to the 360 so be it. remember metal gear was available for the original xbox why not the 360 its just good business.

MS want to buy everything out. How many PS titles have they stole off us? Tekken, Ridge Racer, Dead or Alive, Tomb Raider, etc. We have more money come to Xbox! How many titles have we stole of Xbox? I can’t think of any. It’s just Xbox trying to buy out the competion as always.
Even if MGS4 went Xbox it would be like 7 discs and you wont even be able to do the flashback bit to MGS because it’s not got the hardware. You’d have 4 game discs for cut scences and about 3 game discs because they use DVD, EPIC FAIL! Because Xbox is true HD gaming at it’s best!
