Pacific Rift, a.k.a MotorStorm 2, has received an update. The update is called ‘Game Update 1′. Novel naming there, eh?
Putting aside the more than obvious nomenclature, the patch fixes some bugs and makes a few minor improvements, still not enough to tempt me to upgrade from MotorStorm yet though.
The patch is live right now, so if you’ve got the game, simply go through the usual process of putting the game disc in and you should get the prompt that an update is available. As long as you press X not O (circle), you should be downloading that baby in no time.
The patch is mainly adding security to the save files and incorporating measures to prevent saves from corrupting. A backup can now be made and restored of save games and a new indicator for periods of ‘critical data saves’ will also be shown.
A bug regarding boost cheaters has been eradicated and any leaderboard times gained using this technique are due to be removed shortly.
