PSP News New PSP Has Lower Battery Life
In the recent article posted on here regarding the new PS3 and PSP models, a rumour about an improved battery was hinted at. Unfortunately, John Koller who is speaking on behalf of SCEA, has come out stating the newer PSPs will actually feature a lower battery life than previous versions.
The rumour suggested one of the new additions made to the PSP-3000 is an upgraded battery unit. Whilst the battery unit used will remain the same as the previous PSP-2000 models, due to the increased LCD screen quality the battery life will drain quicker. The average output from a full charge will be reduced by up to half an hour. Specifically, Koller said:
Battery life will decrease by a small amount; it’s about 20 minutes, maybe 30 minutes, and that’s because there’s a little bit of a larger power draw with the brighter screen
