Obscure II
Is it Silent Hill? Is it Resident Evil? No its Obscure II. After the dismal performance of the first Obscure we had little hope for the second but as responsible gaming journalists we thought we would give it a fair go. Obscure II is marketed at horror slasher lovers who enjoy walking around different environments slashing people to bits. On paper it sounds reasonable yet developers have delivered another disgraceful performance.
The story revolves around a fraternity party who unleash mayhem by releasing a set of zombie mutants on a college campus. We are thinking lots of nice girls running around screaming and violent atmospheric dorm rooms. Well the women and atmospheric aspects are there. The games graphics are nothing special but the game does deliver that haunting feeling. The timing of the music also adds to the effect.
In Obscure II you will take on the zombies using your finely tuned combat skills. Combat involves repeated tapping the attack button which in tern becomes very repetitie. Luckily developers have added some other elements into the game to keep you interest. Gamers will have to search for keys throughout the extensive grounds and solve a series of puzzles. You will also swap between six different characters throughout the game.
Obscure II should essentially be a budget game as it will hardly keep you entertained for weeks on end. Game play is repetitive and the game is ridiculously difficult. You will be killed so many times that you wont know what to do with yourself. The graphics are also rather dated and the game adds little to the genre. We advise you to stay clear of this one folks.
