Codemaster’s war-based tactical shooter is being anticipated by a large number of gamers worldwide. Up until now, no-one has been sure when the game would actually be seeing light of day. Well, that date has been confirmed by Codemasters and we can now tell you that Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will release on October 6th in North American territories and October 9th in the United Kingdom.
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, or OFDR, is a shooter set in a sandbox style, in other words, it features free-roaming gameplay, somewhat similar to that featured on Battlefield 1943, but on a much larger scale.
The gameplay takes place on a Russian island, named Skira. Skira is an oil-rich terrain and is in contention between the two factions in the game, the Chinese PLA and US Marine Corps and Special Forces. The island is the virtual equivalent of 220km of land space.
OFDR well be released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
