Michael Pachter, analyst for Wedbush Morgan, has come out with another one of his video game industry predictions, which always seem to struggle to come true.
This time Pachter opined that the Sony will give the PlayStation 3 a price cut around April time, in the US territories at least. He believes that the console will be lowered to the retail price of $299. If this were the case then a similar reduction might happen over the other regions too.
Pachter believes that once the PS3 cost is dropped Microsoft will soon follow suit:
“We expect another cut in price for the Xbox 360, with the feature-laden Pro model likely to come down in price to $249 at or before this year’s E3 show in June” claims Pachter.
