Everyone has heard about it by now, the PlayStation 3 Slim is real and on it’s way to store shelves come September 1st, 2009. The question is, does it make a big difference? It wasn’t really a huge surprise to most gamers, as there were plenty of rumours and leaks before Sony got their chance to mention it themselves in their gamescom press announcement.
Despite it being dubbed one of the worst kept secrets of all time, it still did have an impact, it was picked up by the mainstream media, so it did it’s job. When september 1st comes, everyone is likely to analyse the sales figures to check for any boost in sales riding on the back of the PS3 Slim release.
