Rockstars Website Updates

Recently there has been much talk about last weeks updates made to the Grand Theft Auto IV site and we thought we would take the time to fill you in on a few things. If you remember last week Rockstar added the following things to the site:

* Videos of Alderney businessman Phil Bell and the Dilettante hybrid car.

* Downloadable posters of Liberty City’s most wanted criminals, straight from the LCPD.

* The Weazel News sidebar-friendly news widget.

* New batch of exclusive screenshots.

* Debut of the Character Series of official wallpapers and more.

Well as you can imagine the videos were the biggest talking point. The video featuring Phil Bell caused quite a stir as it had very much a godfather feel to it. Phil is a no nonsense type of character who carries out shady business dealings in the local neighbourhood. The strippers, guns and explosions were particularly appealing. It is believed that Phil is quite an influential character in the game. Some fans also commented that he looked like the main gangster in the film Mickey Blue Eyes (for some reason the actors name does not come to mind).

The Dilettante hybrid car video is typical in Rockstars approach. Rockstar, in there quirky and sarcastic way are taking the piss out of hybrid and energy efficient cars and claim there rust bucket will help you pick up the chicks. It is a nice touch but has little relevance to the game. But what the heck we want one. We have one on order in the colour puke green.

As expected Rockstar released another new set of screenshots and desktop wallpapers. The new screenshots are rather uninspiring and offer no new insights but its enough to keep fans waiting on Rockstars every word. The other update was the video showing the making of the box art. Most people will probably ignore this but we thought it was pretty cool. The box is designed in the typical GTA style and the man hours put into putting it together is unbelievable.
