The Agency has been off the radar for some time now but we are pleased to announce that new details have been leaked. The Agency is one of Sony Online Entertainments sideliners and is sure to make a big splash with this new MMO. Sony Online entertainment was of course responsible for Everquest and FPS Planetside. Both had a massive impact on the MMO genre so it is no surprise that fans can’t wait to see what Sony have under their wings this time round.
The Agency forces you to choose between one of two factions who use varying methods to take out there enemies. There approach play is completely different yet they both have access to James Bond like gadgets and weapons. The two factions are not exactly at war with each other as they occasionally work together. Sometimes large forces in the game mean the two factions have to come together. This is rather neat as it means that you are able to blend the stealth style of one faction with the all out war of another.
The Agency is an extremely clever game and sometimes you will be fighting your enemy (the computer bots) while trying to avoid other human players. So in some maps other players are trying to stop you achieving your objectives against the game. The Agency is essentially one huge open world where you can meat people and take on your enemies. When you login you will be updated by your accomplices as to where things have progressed to. You may also have to interact with other people or get people on board to help you with missions. This adds a great new social element to the game.
The most striking thing about the Agency is the visual style. It has a cartoony look to it but yet still has a very real feel. The Agency adopts a similar style to Team Fortress. This title promises a lot but can it really deliver the knockout punch?
