I’ll start straight out by stating this isn’t news, well at least not in the sense you probably want it. I’m sorry if you came here expecting a good, breaking news story, but this piece is about my recent personal loss, this is my story of “The woes of broken games and platform lifts”.
Don’t worry, I don’t mean loss in a too drastic sense, I simply refer to one of my PlayStation 3 CDs that recently decided that being removed from its games case was too strenuous and cracked from the inner circle outwards. Unfortunately, this made the game unplayable, a game which I had been thoroughly enjoying up until last night when the event occurred.
The game is Dead Space and the last bit I remember are platform lifts (scarier than the one in the link, its just a reference for those not sure), one of which was carrying a sword-limbed, demonic creature who proceeded to lunge at me making me drop my beer.
At the time, I was slightly annoyed at the loss of my beer, but that’s nothing now compared to the knowledge that I now have to pay out for another copy of Dead Space just so I can get my fix of freaky alienesque monsters that dwell on platform lifts until an unsuspecting engineer comes along to fix the damn power outage.
