Crytek, of Crysis and Far Cry fame, has reportedly taken over Free Radical, the guys behind Haze and the TimeSplitters series of games.
It was recently announced that Free Radical had closed doors as another victim of the credit crunch. I think the developer had pinned a few too many of their hopes on Haze performing well. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good either, but that’s a different story.
Many a fan of the TimeSplitters franchise expressed woe at the closure and sadness swept the world…OK, I might be getting a bit carried away. However, a lot of people were unhappy at the prospect of no more monkey deathmatches.
Some good news then for the team at Free Radical, hopefully the job losses will be minimal.
Now bring on TS4!
