Former God of War man David Jaffe confirms the development of Twisted Metal for Playstation 3. Fans have long suspected that the game would appear on Playstation 3 after code junkies cracked the code of Twisted Metal: Head on (on Playstation 2) and the words ‘Twisted Metal on PSTHREE’ appeared in the code. Jaffe also hinted at the possibility of download distribution, that is the game will be sold by download only. This would certainly please Sony as they are really trying to push the Playstation network at the moment.
Jaffe is still keeping things close to his chest and we have been given no official release date. However we do expect several things from the latest edition of Twisted Metal. Firstly some vastly improved graphics. The old versions of Twisted Metal had extremely blocky graphics and looked poor even by Playstation 2 standards. It’s the game play that helps Twisted Metal sell time and time again. No level or match is the same and you can’t help but be addicted to it. The game play should hopefully stay the same. Finally we think the Playstation Network will play a big part in this game. We suspect that you will be able to download new content such as cars and characters. This would help add to the shelf life of the game.
