A patch for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune has just been released. This little update adds trophy support to Uncharted, making it the third game in the PS3 library to get the ‘achievement-esque’ beauties. The 8-month-old game was a huge success, and with this new lease of life should continue to be enjoyed by many. As it is the first full game to support trophies, the Platinum trophy will also make its PlayStation debut as part of the update.
Trophies not only give a little bit more of a goal for gamers to aim for, they also help to improve the replay value of many titles. Personally, I like to play through a game normally, then after a few months replay the game for the trophies/achievements. As more focus is placed on the separate goals, the story of the game is less likely to become stagnant.
After downloading and installing the patch, which is around 13MB (nice and small!), Uncharted will be upgraded to version 1.01. I’m not sure if the US or other regions outside of the EU have received this patch yet.
I hope to bring out a Trophies section shortly, which will detail the specific trophies for each game. The trophies for Uncharted are identical to the games original awards and bonuses system.
