I’ve been trying to look up some information on this for a few weeks now, but I’ve had no luck finding anything of use. There are hundreds of articles on the topic, most of them originating around July last year. This just happens to be when the US video store was announced at E3.
Obviously the PS3 video store in Europe was going to be harder to realise than the North American counterpart. This is due to the number of different countries and localisations that have to be worked through.
A few reports seemed to point towards a February-March release of the video store in Europe, however this is looking less and less likely.
We have also been promised a PlayStation 3 version of VidZone would be arriving “early 2009″. Bringing free music and free music video streaming. Unless this is included in the rumoured firmware 2.70, I doubt this will be coming for several months yet.
