Worms: A Space Oddity

Try and figure this one out. Worms has been a long-standing series, which has claimed critical success around the world, but what will this instalment bring. The first thing you notice is the control. For some reason Team 17 have made the controls for the Nintendo Wii version rather tricky. This is a big problem as Worms heavily relies on its simple navigation and game controls. In some instances it can take up to a minute to even get in a position to take a shot, which of course is beyond your time limit.

Despite the poor controls we were still eager to give the game a go as Worms has always been an enjoyable experience. The idea of Worms in space also interested us and we were expecting to see a whole host of new futuristic weapons. Despite our optimism we felt a little let down by the whole Worms: A Space Oddity experience. Games were shorts and rarely lasted longer that several minutes. The fun factor was also lost as we got so annoyed by the controls.

Worms is also supposed to be a tactical game but much of the tactical elements of this game have been taken out as explosions are to big. It seems that Team 17 have got their sums wrong. Small weapons and explosives seem to have the ability to take out several weapons and the gap between low end and top end weapons feels slight. All in all Worms: Space Oddity is a disappointing title and we would advise you guys to stay away from this one.
