In a completely unsurprising move following the PlayStation 3 Slim announcement and price cuts across other PS3 models, Microsoft have confirmed a price cut for the Xbox 360 Elite. From the 28 August 2009, the Xbox Elite will be available for only £199 in the UK. This comes shortly after Microsoft announced the Xbox 360 Arcade and Elite models will be reduced to $199 and $299 respectively in North America.
All this price cutting is definitely good for the consumers, it shows what a good, healthy competition can achieve. Considering a number of places in the UK were previously offering Xbox Elite deals for £199 anyway, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some great bundles heading our way soon for an equal, or even lower price.
It makes you wonder if the recent price rise for the Xbox 360 Arcade and dropping of the Pro was a clever ploy to tempt more people to opt for the more premium Elite model.
