Zenimax Media, the parent company of well known publisher Bethesda Softworks, has acquired another popular game developer, id Software.
id Software are known for games like Doom, Wolfenstein and the upcoming open-world racer, RAGE. They certainly have some great titles under their belt and now they’ve been taken under the wing of Zenimax Media. They are now alongside Bethesda Softworks, the people behind The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3.
Both these developers have huge followings and a mixed fan base, if this merger means anything it can only be good things for the gaming world.
Now the questions is, when will an open-world RPG of Doom set on Mars be released? As Zenimax themselves specialise in MMOG (massively multiplayer online games), will we see a WoW-esque Doom game?
